Cucuel is a seasoned healthcare executive and private equity operating leader with extensive experience building and scaling healthcare services organizations. He has served in leadership roles at Spire since its founding, including Executive Chairman and Interim Chief Executive Officer, where he has overseen strategic development, executive leadership recruitment, and the continued expansion of Spire’s physician-focused orthopedic platform.

Cucuel has been affiliated with Kohlberg & Company, a New York-based private equity firm, since 1999 and was named an Operating Partner in 2010. In that role, he focuses on healthcare services investments, portfolio company operations, and transaction diligence.

Prior to his work with Spire and other Kohlberg portfolio companies, Cucuel served as Chief Executive Officer of Critical Homecare Supply and American Homecare Supply. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership positions at American Home Patient and Home Nutritional Services.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College.
